Medicinália was founded in 1962 as an evolution of the Hospital Division of Laboratórios Sanitas (1911), with the main purpose of distributing medical equipment. Later on, the company was acquired by Werfen Group in 1998.

Cormédica, Lda. was founded in 1977 with the sole objective of the distribution of cardiac devices and was at the forefront with the introduction of the cardiac valve in Portugal. Almost a decade later, in 1986, the company was incorporated by Werfen Group.

In 2008, the two companies were merged and Medicinália-Cormédica, Lda was born, however allowing a clear separation between the two divisions depending on the background and type of market supplied.

With a new corporative image implemented, and motivated employees, the company is improving the adding value to its business relations looking for new healthcare solutions and showing responsability and honour for their clients. Medicinália Cormédica, Lda is a wholesale distributor and a partner that is increasing notoriety.
